The purpose of the program is to minister to the children, youth and adults by forming them in the faith of the Catholic tradition and by forming them regarding the teachings of the Church so that the students and adults involved in the program will grow in awareness, knowledge and practice of their faith. PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (PSR) Judy Roensch, DRE stbernadetteslw@aol.com 336-9956 Mission: PSR, the Parish School of Religious Education is available for children (ages 3-15), which include preschoolers through ninth grade. There is also a class for children of catechetical age that may have missed a Sacrament. In the 2003-2004 year the children meet on Monday nights. We have the Children’s Liturgy on Sunday at 9:00 am Mass, where the Gospel is taught for the children in an age appropriate context. Needs: Join us in the ministry by offering your gifts of time and talents to children so they may know and understand their faith.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA) Judy Roensch, DRE stbernadetteslw@aol.com 336-9956 Mission: A faith-centered process for adults wishing to learn more about the Catholic faith and become fully initiated Catholics through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist. Needs: People who wish to give of their time and talents to participate in this ministry.
BIBLE STUDY Marilyn Rose 464-1108 Mission: We are a community of faith-based learners. We use text and video format of study to seek and learn more about God. Needs: We meet once a week to share our insights. We purchase commercial materials for each area of study. Cost is minimal. We welcome all interested individuals regardless of Bible knowledge – novice to advanced. |
